We move to the next batch of waifus and introduce some characters from Once Bitten.
Originally written as a separate standalone about a mundane human who is bitten by a faeire and quickens into his Fae form - an incubus. As I've stated a few times, this story was written contemporaneously with Familiar Fairytales, and my version of Fae lore is shared between both books. Because I write by the seat of my pants (aka pantsing), I didn't really know anything about the Fae world and how the magic worked when I first started writing about Tom being bitten by Sammi. I just knew he was suddenly an incubus.
And one thing that is true about incubuses... incubi, is that they are incessantly horny. And in my world, incubus/succubus became a feeder type of fae, same as a vampire. That means, they need to feed from human hosts either by their blood (vampire) or by their sexual energies (incubi/succubi). That makes feeders a sketchy group of fae who can threaten humans and disrupt the fragile urban fantasy world by confusing and scaring normal, mundane folk.
I reckoned that humans who get frightened by paranormal monsters respond with fear and anger, and eventually gather their pitchforks to destroy the magical beings. Which catches on and endangers all of the other fae.
So normal Fae don't trust feeders, but they have to live in a world with them... that is the lore revealed in Once Bitten. So I'll stop here to not spoil that story completely. But I need to introduce the waifu characters, right?
So, back to my incubus character, Tom, who takes on the name Rick after his quickening. Sammi, his fae handler, tells Rick that he will need to feed often to stave off the problems of hunger. So she sets him up in an apartment with mundane humans that are friendly to the fae, or at least don't immediately grab their pitchforks when they see one.
This leads Rick to go on a series of adventures, I guess we could call them dates, and start collecting his harem. So the five characters in this batch of cards include Sammi (a nereid or mermaid), Aisha, a mundane human researched of arcane artifacts, Celia, who runs the deli across the street, Rachael, a lingerie store clerk, and finally Lana, who is a barista and has a friend Chelsea who is a flight attendant.
