August Update - M.A.C.K. and Covenant

August 3, 2026

Hey y’all,

Can you believe it's August? Where did April, May, and June go? They flew by, and I wasn’t really keeping up—so this is one of those “real talk” updates.

Over the past few months, my writing income has taken a pretty rough hit, and that’s starting to affect how much time and energy I can realistically devote to new books. I want to keep telling the kind of stories you signed up for—smart, spicy, character-driven haremlit romances—but to do that, I need to be more strategic about how and when I release them.

I also want to lean into urban fantasy, which is where I started and what I’ve spent the last year reading. I do have ideas—they’ve just been slow to percolate while my mental state could generously be described as “unfocused.”

So I’m making a practical shift with my newest project, Magical Alliance of Concerned Kin (M.A.C.K.)—cute acronym, right?

I’ve already posted the first two chapters, and I have another nine I’m actively editing and rewriting. It’s real, it’s taking shape, and I think it sits right in my sweet spot for spice vs. story.

But instead of holding everything back until I have a 100k+ monster finished, I’m going to structure it as a 40k serial for Book 1—a lean, bingeable first installment I can publish sooner, feed the Amazon/KU algorithm, and (hopefully) stabilize the income side of this gig. Right now, it feels more like Smoke Show and Chef's Kiss in tone, with an urban fantasy wrap, some monster girls as love interests, and plenty of Texas flair.

If you enjoyed the Chef’s Kiss series, this new story aims for the same mix of humor, heat, and heart—just with djinn, oni, and West Texas desert tunnels instead of barbecue pits or roadshows, plus a growing found-family vibe.
